                      APPOINTMENT OF GROUP FINANCE DIRECTOR

                                       
API Group plc, the specialist packaging company, announced today the appointment
of Andrew Robertson (49) as Group Finance Director.

Mr Robertson, FCA, who will join the Board on 1 April, has extensive experience
of financial management in international manufacturing businesses having
previously held senior roles at a number of well known companies including
Laporte plc, Jardine Insurance Brokers and Laird Group plc. Prior to joining
API, he was for ten years Group Finance Director of Pemco International BV, an
industrial coatings group with world-wide operations. Mr Robertson is a Fellow
of the Institute of Chartered Accountants and a Member of the Association of
Corporate Treasurers.

Commenting on the appointment, Richard Wright, the Non-executive Chairman of
API, said:

'Andrew has an excellent record in senior finance roles and a wealth of relevant
experience to bring API, having operated in many of the Group's major markets
including Europe, North America and the Far East. The Board is delighted to
welcome him as a director and member of the executive management team.'

There is no further information which is required to be disclosed under
paragraph 9.6.13 of the Listing Rules.
