Appointment of Non-Executive Director
API Group plc announces the appointment of Andrew Walker as a non-executive
director with effect from 25 July 2003. API began the search for a new
non-executive earlier this year following the retirement of John Sheldrick from
its Board.
Andrew Walker (51) has wide public company experience both in manufacturing and
service companies. In an executive capacity he was Group Chief Executive of
McKechnie PLC from 1997-2001 and of South Wales Electricity from 1993-1996,
having previously spent 14 years with Dowty Group PLC. He is currently a
non-executive director of Ultra Electronic Holdings plc, Halma plc, Galileo
Innovations plc and Bioganix Limited.
Commenting on the appointment David Hudd, Chairman of API, said:
'Andrew brings strong manufacturing credentials to our Board. I am delighted
that we have been able to secure his services for API.'
