EDINBURGH SMALL COMPANIES TRUST PLC ('THE COMPANY')

Annual General Meeting ('AGM')

The Company gives notice that all resolutions proposed in the Notice of the
Meeting were duly passed at the AGM held today, 21 October 2004.

The Board announces that, as set out in the Chairman's Statement in the Annual
Report & Accounts for the year ended 30 June 2004, Iain Bell retired as a non-
executive Director of the Company at the conclusion of the AGM.
