STANDARD LIFE UK SMALLER COMPANIES TRUST PLC

The Board of Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust plc has declared an Interim Dividend of 0.5 pence per Ordinary share (2007 - no interim dividend) in respect of the year to 30 June 2009 payable on 23 January 2009 to shareholders on the register at close of business on 16 January 2009. The ex-dividend date is 14 January 2009.
