Interim Management Statement
Three months ended 31 March 2012
To the members of Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust plc ('the Company')
This Interim Management Statement ('IMS') has been produced solely to provide additional information to shareholders as a body to meet the relevant requirements of the UK Listing Authority's Disclosure and Transparency Rules. It should not be relied upon by any other party or for any other purpose.
This IMS relates to the period from 1 January 2012 to 31 March 2012 and contains information that covers this period and up to the date of publication of this IMS, unless otherwise specified.
Investment objective
The objective of the Company is to achieve long term capital growth by investment in UK quoted smaller companies.
Benchmark
Numis Smaller Companies Index (excluding investment companies), formerly known as RBS Hoare Govett Smaller Companies Index (excluding investment companies).
Material events
On 23 February 2012, the Company announced its Half-Yearly Financial Report for the 6 months ended 31 December 2011.
An interim dividend of 1.00 pence per Ordinary share was paid on 30 March 2012 to those shareholders on the register as at 9 March 2012 with an associated ex-dividend date of 7 March 2012.
On 3 April 2012, the Company issued 5,346 new Ordinary issues further to the conversion date of 31 March 2012 in relation to the CULS 2018 which resulted in a capital structure, as at date of this IMS, comprising £24,935,071 nominal amount of CULS and 64,999,905 Ordinary shares in issue, with voting rights.
