Issue of equity

The Board of Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust plc (the "Company") has today issued, subject to listing, 5,346 Ordinary Shares following elections by holders of the Company's 3.5% Convertible Unsecured Loan Stock 2018 ("CULS") to convert GBP12,695 nominal of CULS. The Ordinary Shares will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares.

It is expected that admission to the Official List and commencement of dealings in these Ordinary Shares on the London Stock Exchange will take place at 8.00 a.m. on 10 April 2012.

Following admission, there will be 64,999,905 Ordinary Shares and GBP24,935,071 nominal of CULS in issue.
