SALE OF TREASURY SHARES

On 13 September 2010, Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust PLC sold out of treasury 350,000 Ordinary shares at an average price of 168.50 pence per share (transaction: 11:07am). Following the transaction, the Company's share capital will comprise:

60,455,214 Ordinary shares (excluding treasury shares) with voting rights

3,267,342 Ordinary shares held in treasury

63,722,556 Ordinary shares (including treasury shares)
