AMENDMENT
Please note that the announcement released on 20 December 2007 at 1721 hrs (RNS
No: 4447k) was incorrect as it stated that 175,000 ordinary shares were bought
back for cancellation. These shares are in fact not cancelled and are being
held in treasury. Please see below the correct announcement.
STANDARD LIFE UK SMALLER COMPANIES TRUST PLC
On 20 December 2007, Standard Life UK Smaller Companies Trust PLC bought back
175,000 of its ordinary 25 pence shares at an average price of 100.6571 pence
per share. These shares will be held in treasury. Following the buy back,
there are 32,408,790 ordinary 25 pence shares (excluding treasury shares) and
32,583,790 ordinary 25 pence shares (including treasury shares) remaining in
issue. The number of ordinary shares of 25p held in treasury is 175,000.
