                              Buckland Investments plc


Pursuant to the Companies Act 1985, on behalf of City Equities Limited I hereby
make a declaration of our shareholding in Buckland Investments plc.

Having sold 5,315,000 of Buckland Investments plc shares to certain of our
private clients, acting as Principal, as at the close of business on 7 March
2002, City Equities Limited held 1,965,000 Ordinary Shares, representing
approximately 1.73 per cent of the Enlarged Issued Share Capital.

As a result of these sales, City Equities Limited no longer holds a notifiable
interest in the shares of Buckland Investments plc.
