New Contracts
Active Energy, which supplies cutting-edge voltage optimisation technology to reduce the energy consumption and CO₂ emissions of commercial buildings, is pleased to announce new contract wins in January, which will generate revenue of in excess of £400,000 in the current financial year.
The largest of the new contracts has been secured with the National Measurement Office on behalf of the National Physical Laboratory, a world-leading centre for developing and applying the most accurate measuring standards. Under the terms of the contract, Active Energy will supply five VoltageMaster units to the National Physical Laboratory, which operates from a purpose-built laboratory in Teddington, Middlesex
The National Physical Laboratory, established in 1900 and run by Serco Group plc on behalf of the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills, is not only responsible for developing and maintaining the UK's primary measurement standards, it also provides technical expertise and support to UK industry. In this role, it has contributed to the invention of radar and Alan Turing's work on the first automatic computing engine, and is currently involved in projects such as designing an artificial pancreas for the treatment of diabetics and C-Save, a showcase project focusing on Carbon Capture and Storage to reduce emissions from power stations. The installation of Active Energy's VoltageMaster is in line with the National Physical Laboratory's commitment to environmental best practice and the reduction of its energy consumption.
Other recent contract wins with new customers including Norland Managed Services Ltd , a leading UK provider of facilities management and support services, and Edinburgh Council. SSE Contracting, the electrical and mechanical contracting subsidiary of Scottish and Southern Energy plc, also continues to deliver on its strategic relationship with Active Energy to support the winning of new contracts with the signing of a number of additional new customers.
Philip Palmer, Executive Chairman, commented,
"We are delighted that the National Physical Laboratory has chosen VoltageMaster to help reduce its CO₂ emissions. The contract win is pleasing recognition by a highly regarded scientific institution of the benefits which our voltage optimisation technology delivers, reducing CO₂ emissions by up to 20 per cent.
We believe that the VoltageMaster product represents an attractive solution for both public sector and private organisations seeking to reduce their carbon footprint."
