Construction and Air Permit Public Comment Period Further Extended
Active Energy, the international biomass based renewable energy business, announces that the public comment period for the construction and air permit (the "Permit") for the Company's CoalSwitch™ plant at the Lumberton site has been further extended until 27th May 2020. In its announcement, The Division of Air Quality cites the impact of COVID-19 on public participation as the basis for its extension decision.
The Company has already engaged the Division of Air Quality via its North Carolina counsel and is evaluating its options via legal and other channels in response to the continuing delay in the issuance of the Permit.
The Company has previously announced that it had completed all other application and procedural formalities, with regards to the Permit, and the Division of Air Quality has confirmed to the Company that a draft Permit has been prepared and no further information is required by the administration regarding this project.
This announcement contains inside information for the purposes of Article 7 of Regulation (EU) 596/2014.
