ADAMIND WINS MAJOR DEAL WITH ONE OF EUROPE'S LARGEST MOBILE NETWORK OPERATORS
Adamind's media adaptation platform will enable one of Europe's top five
networks to upgrade its multimedia services for tens of millions of subscribers
Palo Alto, California. 26 June, 2006: Adamind Ltd. (LSE: ADA) ("Adamind" or the
"Company"), a global supplier of software that enables mobile multimedia content
and converged communications services to be experienced on any handset or
network, announces that it has won a major contract with from one of Europe's
top five mobile networks. Adamind will receive an upfront license fee as well as
revenues from capacity upgrades due to increases in rich media content traffic.
The deal is typical of second generation tenders where existing carrier
infrastructures are being replaced or updated in order to accommodate larger
scale rich media content deployments.
Under the terms of the contract, the Company's media adaptation platform, Media
Spire(TM), will be deployed in one of Europe's largest countries to upgrade the
operator's existing multi media messaging services to include video based
applications and greater capacity to handle an expected increase in demand from
subscribers. Adamind expects to recognise revenues of approximately $1m over a
24 month period.
Adamind's software will be integrated with the mobile network infrastructure
from one of the world's largest telecom equipment vendors at the heart of the
operator's network. Based on Open Mobile Association (OMA) standards,
MediaSpire(TM) is intended to support a significant increase in demand for
video-based services to be launched by the operator later this year. These
services include person to person applications (e.g. family video clips) and
application to person (e.g. news clips and video downloads produced by content
owners) applications.
Shailendra Jain, CEO of Adamind said: "We are gaining traction in the European
market and this win reflects the growing demand for Adamind's software from the
world's top network operators. This is one of several deals we expect to close
in Europe with this particular telecom infrastructure vendor over the coming
months."
Adamind addresses the interoperability challenge that exists between different
mobile devices to receive and process media rich content. To achieve the best
possible experience, content needs to be transcoded - adapted and released in
device-specific versions that comply with the requirements of each cell phone
model according to its capabilities and the network attributes. The win
represents a major milestone for Adamind in terms of gaining traction in the
European market.
