Admiral Group plc (the 'Company') announces that on 9 September 2005:

Application has been made to the UK Listing Authority for the admission of
4,000,000 ordinary shares of 0.1 pence each, ranking, when issued, pari passu 
in all respects with the existing issued ordinary shares, in the Company to the
Official List, and to the London Stock Exchange for these securities to be
admitted to trading. 

The application is being made in respect of shares that either have been or 
will in the future be issued by the Company to the trustees of the Admiral 
Group plc Approved Share Incentive Plan ('SIP') and the Admiral Group plc 
Employee Benefit Trust ('EBT).
