UPDATE ON ISSUED SHARE CAPITAL

Following the issue of 284,503 shares subscribed for by Capita IRG Trustees
Limited, as trustee of the Admiral Group plc Approved Share Incentive Plan
("SIP") at the nominal value of 0.1 pence per ordinary share, the share capital
of Admiral Group plc is now 268,571,725 Ordinary Shares of 0.1p each.

The 284,503 shares subscribed for are included within current block listings
granted by the UK Listing Authority and the London Stock Exchange.

In accordance with the requirements of paragraph 3.1.2.of the Disclosure Rules,
notification is also given that the Finance Director, Kevin Chidwick, was
awarded 100 shares under the Admiral Group Approved Share Incentive Plan at a
strike price of £14.896.

Kevin Chidwick now holds 50,067 ordinary shares in Admiral Group.
