Appointment of Non-Executive Director
Winsford, UK: Advanced Medical Solutions Group plc (AIM: AMS), the global
medical technology company, today announces that Mr Stephen Gerard Bellamy, a
chartered accountant with extensive City experience, has been appointed to the
Board as a Non-Executive Director with immediate effect.
Mr Bellamy, aged 47, is currently Chairman of The First Close Technology Fund,
which is managed by Close Brothers and invests in early stage UK technology
companies. He is also a Non-Executive Director of Unifisoft Limited, a
technology supplier to the financial services industry, and QBM Limited, a
non-trading company.
Mr Bellamy, who qualified as a chartered accountant in New Zealand in 1984, was
an Executive Director of Sherwood International plc from 1994 to 2001, where he
was CFO and then COO of the global business operations of the group. He was
also previously an Executive Director of Brierley Investments' London operations
from 1986 to 1993.
Mr Bellamy's previous non-executive directorships have included Dr Foster Limited,
a provider of informatics to the UK health industry with a strong presence in
the NHS; CSols plc, a laboratory software and services company; and Budgens
plc, the food retailer acquired in 2002 by Musgrave Group for £315 million.
In addition, Mr Bellamy is a former Member of the Advisory Committee to ISIS
Capital plc.
Commenting on this announcement Dr Geoffrey N Vernon, Non-Executive Chairman of
AMS, stated: 'I am delighted to welcome Stephen to our Board. His strong City
experience will be of great value to AMS as we develop the Company further and
continue to look for strategic corporate opportunities to enhance growth.'
Mr Bellamy's other previous non-executive directorships during the past five
years comprise: QBM Holdings Limited; GTJST Limited, formerly named IQA Holdings
Limited; and Force 12 Holdings Limited.
There are no further disclosures to be made with regards to this appointment
under paragraph (g) of Schedule 2 of the AIM Rules.
