STANDARD & POOR'S AND ADVFN DELIVER NASDAQ LEVEL 2
LONDON (5 September, 2002) - Standard & Poor's (S&P), the leading financial
information and ratings provider, and ADVFN, the UK's leading Investor Website
have linked to deliver Nasdaq Level 2 information to UK private investors.
Level 2 is complex information on the order books of stocks trading in the
market and is used by professionals and sophisticated investors to judge the
direction of the markets during the trading day. ADVFN has pioneered the
distribution of UK Level 2 from the London Stock Exchange via the internet.
Clem Chambers, MD of ADVFN, said 'Trading the market without level 2 is like
driving at night without headlights. With ADVFN's successful introduction of
real time US prices from Standard & Poor's ComStock, introducing US Level 2 is
the next logical step.'
Mark Hepsworth, MD of Standard & Poor's Investment Services, said: 'ADVFN is a
major player in the UK retail marketplace and we are delighted to be working
with them on this major enhancement to their service which we believe will prove
popular.'
In a deal with Standard & Poor's Comstock, ADVFN will bring US Level 2 to market
in the last quarter of 2002.
