                      LEPCO plc ('LEPCO' or the 'Company')

           Acquisition of producing interests and issue of new shares

Further to the announcement on 28 February 2002, the Board of LEPCO is pleased
to announce the completion of the acquisition of Westmount Resources Inc ('WRI')
and the admission to trading on the Alternative Investment Market of 6.5 million
LEPCO ordinary shares of 1p each, being the consideration shares received by the
vendors of WRI, Westmount Energy Limited ('Westmount').  Westmount now has an
interest in LEPCO representing 14.27% of the issued share capital of the
Company.
