                            Director's Share Purchase


The Company was informed today that on 3 June 2005, Dr. Elizabeth Butler, a
non-executive director of the Company, purchased 20,000 ordinary shares of 1p
each ('Ordinary Shares') at 15.5p per Ordinary Share. Immediately upon
settlement of the transaction, Dr Butler intends to gift these shares to members
of her family and consequently there will be no change to her beneficial holding
which will remain at 349,550 Ordinary Shares, representing 0.3% of the Company's
issued ordinary share capital.
