Sterling Energy PLC 15 October 2004 Sterling Energy plc ('Sterling' or the 'Company') Board Resignation and Appointment Sterling is announcing the resignation of Nigel Quinton, its Operational and Technical Director. Nigel will leave the Group's employment at the end of December. He has been involved in the development of Sterling from its inception as a private limited partnership in 2000, through the reverse takeover of LEPCO plc in October 2002 and the successful takeover of Fusion completed in 2003. Nigel feels it is a good time to move on and the Company wishes him every success. Harry Wilson, Chief Executive, said 'We are proud of the successes that the Sterling team has had to date. I am confident that following our acquisition of Fusion Oil & Gas plc late last year and the consolidation of our offices in Houston and Perth, the experienced management team we have put in place is now well positioned to see us successfully through the next stages of our development.' The Board of Sterling is also delighted to announce that Alan Levison, 53, has now joined the Board as an independent non-executive director of the Company. Alan has a wealth of experience in the energy sector and in African affairs having worked for over 30 years in worldwide positions at British Gas, Chevron, Petro SA and others.
