                     LEPCO PLC ('LEPCO' or the 'Company')

                     Dealings by substantial shareholders

Pursuant to the recent open offer, the Company has been informed that P J
Bassett acquired 500,000 shares (representing 1.42 per cent. of the issued
share capital). As a result of this acquisition, P J Bassett owns 1,621,392
shares representing 4.60 per cent. of the issued share capital.

In addition, as a result of the re-organisation of share capital carried out
in connection with the open offer, Prof. A M Lees no longer has a notifiable
interest in the shares of LEPCO.
