The Company was informed on 4 April 2006 by AMVESCAP PLC ('AMVESCAP') that
INVESCO Perpetual UK Investment Series (UK ICVC), following the purchase of
7,000,000 ordinary shares of 1p each ('Ordinary Shares'), are the beneficial
owner of 218,062,476 Ordinary Shares representing 15.55 per cent. of the issued
share capital of the Company.

The above purchase increases AMVESCAP's holding for the purposes of SAR 3 to
349,897,048 Ordinary Shares representing 24.95% of the issued share capital of
the Company.
