                NOTICE OF 2006 PRELIMINARY RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT


Sterling Energy Plc, the AIM listed (symbol: SEY) independent oil & gas
exploration and production company whose principal assets are in Africa, the
Gulf of Mexico and onshore USA, expects to announce its 2006 Preliminary Results
on Wednesday 16 May 2007.


A presentation for financial analysts will be held at 12.30pm on that day at the
offices of Citigate Dewe Rogerson, 3 London Wall Buildings, London Wall, EC2M
5SY.
