The enclosed announcement (the "SSE Announcement") was published by Air China Limited ("Air China") on the Shanghai Stock Exchange on 15 December 2021, which contains combined operating data of Air China and its subsidiaries (collectively, the "Group") for November 2021. ANNOUNCEMENT ON KEY OPERATING DATA OF NOVEMBER 2021
In November 2021, Air China Limited (the "Company") and its subsidiaries (the "Group") recorded year-on-year and month-on-month decreases in combined passenger traffic (measured by revenue passenger kilometers (the "RPK")). Passenger capacity (measured by available seat kilometers (the "ASK")) recorded a year-on-year decrease of 50.7% while passenger traffic recorded a year-on-year decrease of 59.5%. Among which, for domestic routes, passenger capacity decreased by 51.4% and passenger traffic decreased by 60.0%, as compared to the same period last year. For international routes, passenger capacity decreased by 36.7% and passenger traffic decreased by 40.9%, as compared to the same period last year. For regional routes, passenger capacity decreased by 33.3% and passenger traffic decreased by 48.8%, as compared to the same period last year. The overall passenger load factor was 59.2%, representing a year-on-year decrease of 12.9 percentage points. Among which, the passenger load factor for domestic routes decreased by 12.9 percentage points, the passenger load factor for international routes decreased by 2.8 percentage points and the passenger load factor for regional routes decreased by 11.1 percentage points, as compared to the same period last year.
In terms of cargo operations, cargo capacity (measured by available freight tonne kilometers (the "AFTK")) decreased by 20.6% year on year. Cargo and mail traffic (measured by revenue freight tonne kilometers (the "RFTK")) decreased by 5.1% year on year, and the volume of cargo and mail carried decreased by 21.8% as compared to the same period last year. The cargo load factor was 43.5%, representing a year-on-year increase of 7.1 percentage points.
In November 2021, the Group introduced one A321NEO aircraft, one A320NEO aircraft and one ARJ21-700 aircraft. As at the end of November 2021, the Group operated a fleet of 741 aircraft, including 299 self-owned aircraft, 235 aircraft under finance lease and 207 aircraft under operating lease.
