POSITIVE PROFIT ALERT
OF THE RESULTS FOR THE FIRST QUARTER OF 2015
This announcement is made by Air China Limited (the "Company") pursuant to Rule 13.09 and Rule 13.10B of the Rules Governing the Listing of Securities on The Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited (the "Listing Rules") and the Inside Information Provisions (as defined in the Listing Rules) under Part XIVA of the Securities and Futures Ordinance (Chapter 571 of the laws of Hong Kong).
I. ESTIMATED RESULTS FOR THE PERIOD
1. Period of the estimated results: 1 January 2015 to 31 March 2015

According to the preliminary estimation of the Company in accordance with the China Accounting Standards for Business Enterprises, the net profit attributable to equity holders of the Company for the first quarter of 2015 is expected to be between RMB1.6 billion and RMB1.8 billion.

II. RESULTS FOR THE CORRESPONDING PERIOD IN 2014

III. MAJOR REASONS FOR ESTIMATED INCREASE IN THE RESULTS FOR THE PERIOD
In the first quarter of 2015, in terms of revenue, the Company seized the opportunity of growth in the transportation market during and after the Spring Festival, optimised operational arrangements and increased capacity deployment to meet market demand, achieving a year-on-year increase in revenues. In terms of costs, the Company continued to exploit its potentials in cost reduction through measures including enhancing production efficiency, optimising aircraft model and route structures, and strengthening refined management, coupled with the significant decrease in the price of aviation fuel, which enabled the Company to effectively reduce costs in the first quarter year-on-year.
IV. OTHER MATTERS
The estimated results above are only preliminary figures, and the specific and accurate financial figures of the Company will be officially disclosed in the 2015 first quarterly report of the Company. Investors are reminded to consider the risks involved in making investment decisions.
