                       CLOSE BROTHERS DEVELOPMENT VCT PLC



Close Brothers Development VCT PLC announces that on 17 November 2006 it
purchased, to be held in treasury, 38,000 Ordinary Shares (representing 0.3% of
the Ordinary Share capital) at a price of 87p per Ordinary Share and 17,500 C
Shares (representing 0.1% of the C Share capital) at a price of 95p per C Share.


Following the purchase of the 38,000 Ordinary Shares and the 17,500 C Shares,
the total number of treasury shares held by the Company will be 244,400 Ordinary
Shares and 139,215 C Shares. The issued share capital of the Company, less the
total number of shares held in treasury, will be 12,801,267 Ordinary Shares and
17,981,292 C Shares.
