Pursuant to its authority to purchase its own shares, Close Brothers Venture
Capital Trust plc ('the Company') announces that today it purchased 10,000
Ordinary Shares in the Company at a price of 87p per share.   The Company also
announces that today it purchased 25,000 'C' Shares in the Company at a price
of 82p per share.
