Pursuant to its authority to purchase its own shares, Close Brothers Venture
Capital Trust plc ('the Company') announces that today it purchased 48,000
Ordinary Shares in the Company at a price of 90p per share.   The Company also
announces that today it purchased 25,000 'C' Shares in the Company at a price
of 95p per share.
