The Issuer has advised that the announcement below is being issued as a
correction to yesterday's announcement released at 13:47 under RNS Number 7446H,
regarding the purchase of 'C' shares and Ordinary Shares which did not
complete as indicated and was inadvertently released by the broker. 
Accordingly yesterday's announcement is withdrawn.


Pursuant to its authority to purchase its own shares, Close Brothers Venture
Capital Trust plc (the Company') announces that it yesterday purchased 48,000
'C' Shares in the Company  at a price of 90p per share.
