Alkane announces that application has been made to the London Stock Exchange for the admission of 6,680 new ordinary shares of 0.5 pence each. The admission is being made pursuant to the exercise by an employee on 2 December 2013 of options over 6,680 shares at an exercise price of 20.25 pence per share under the Group's Employee Share Option Plan.

It is expected that admission will occur and dealings in the new ordinary shares will commence at 8.00am on 9 December 2013. Following the admission of the new shares, the issued share capital of the Company will be 123,591,927 ordinary shares.
