Alkane Energy plc ('Alkane' or 'the Company') was today notified that Lady
Fraser, the wife of Lord Fraser of Carmyllie QC, a director of the Company, has
today purchased 20,000 ordinary shares at a price of 12.18p per share. The
shares are registered in the name of Barclays Stockbrokers Limited.
Lady Fraser has a total holding following this purchase of 70,000 ordinary
shares, representing 0.08% of the issued share capital. Lord Fraser's direct
holding of ordinary shares in Alkane is zero.
