                    Chief Executive appointed to ABPI Board

Alliance Pharma plc (AIM: APH), the speciality pharmaceutical company, is
pleased to announce that John Dawson, the Company's Chief Executive, has been
appointed to the Board of Management of the Association of the British
Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI), the UK trade association representing companies
engaged in research, development, manufacturing and marketing of prescription
medicines.

Mr Dawson was appointed to the ABPI Board in its recent elections and will serve
a one year term.

John Dawson, Alliance Pharma's Chief Executive, said: 'I am honoured to have
been elected to the Board of Management of the ABPI and look forward to serving
on it. I believe the ABPI performs an excellent role in promoting the interests
of all of the stakeholders in the UK's pharmaceutical industry and I look
forward to making a significant contribution to support its work, particularly

pricing systems for branded prescription medicines that are used by the NHS.'
