Disclosure of directors' interest in shares
The Alliance Trust PLC
The Alliance Trust PLC ("the Company") has on 27th May 2005 received
notification from Abacus Corporate Trustee Limited as Trustee of The
Alliance Trust PLC Employee Benefit Trust ("the Trust") (a discretionary
trust of which all employees of The Alliance Trust PLC and its
subsidiaries are beneficiaries), that on 27th May 2005 2810 ordinary 25p
shares in the capital of the Company were purchased by Abacus Corporate
Trustee Limited on behalf of employees of the Company.
Of the shares referred to above the following were purchased on behalf of
the executive directors ("the Directors") of the Company as detailed
below, the said shares forming part of the property of the Trust:-
Alan Harden 500
David Deards 264
Alan Young 300
Sheila Ruckley 234
Abacus Corporate Trustee Limited also acquired, on behalf of the Company,
on 27th May 2005 4,677 Ordinary 25p shares in the Company.
The Trust now holds a total of 7487 shares representing 0.015% of the
Company's issued share capital.
Each of the Directors is a member of the class of discretionary
beneficiaries of the Trust and is consequently deemed to have an interest
in all the shares held in the Trust.
