Alliance Trust PLC announces that at the close of business on
Wednesday, 21 June 2006, the unaudited net asset value per ordinary share of 2.5p,
valued on a bid price basis, was 382p.

Income after tax, interest and management expenses arising, which is not
included in the net asset value per ordinary share above, was 1p per
ordinary share.

In calculating the net asset value per share 162,940 shares held by the
Trustees of the Employee Benefit Trust are excluded.
