RCM TECHNOLOGY TRUST PLC

NOTIFICATION OF MAJOR INTEREST IN SHARES

The Company advises that pursuant to the FSA's Disclosure and Transparency Rules it received a notification on 2 October 2009 from JPMorgan Asset Management Holdings Inc on behalf of shareholder JP Morgan Asset Management (UK) Limited that it has a notifiable interest in 2,562,143 Ordinary Shares of 25p, representing 11.20% of the voting rights in the total issued ordinary share capital of the Company, and that it also has an interest in 463,000 Subscription Share of 1p, which represents 9.72% of the total Subscription Shares in issue.

The Company notes that under most circumstances its Subscription Shares have no voting rights. However, the Subscription Shares have an annual opportunity to be converted into Ordinary Shares following which they would have the voting rights attached to Ordinary Shares.
