                                Grant of Options

On 29 January 2007, the following options to subscribe for ordinary shares in
the Company were granted to directors of Hambledon Mining plc pursuant to the
Company's Share Option Scheme:

Baurzhan Yerkeyev                      1,250,000
Neil Stevenson                           500,000

The options are exercisable at 18.5p each and can be exercised between 3 and 5
years from the date of grant.

In addition, on the same date and on the same terms, a total of 350,000 options
to subscribe for ordinary shares in the Company were granted to an employee of
the Company.
