PRESS INFORMATION 2nd April 2007
HAMBLEDON MINING PLC
DIRECTORATE CHANGES
Hambledon Mining plc ('Hambledon' or the 'Group' or the 'Company'), the
AIM-listed mining and exploration company developing precious metal deposits in
Kazakhstan, announces that Baurzhan Yerkeyev, who joined the Company in 2004,
has joined the Board as Executive Director. Alzhan Shomaev, who jointly founded
the Company and has been a Non-executive Director since flotation in 2004, has
stepped down from the Board to pursue his other business interests with
immediate effect.
Mr Yerkeyev, aged 41, joined Hambledon initially as Chief Geologist before
becoming Project Director and then Executive Director of the mining operating
subsidiary TOO Sekisovskoye. In 2006 he was also appointed Executive Director of
TOO Altai Kenbai-Itu, the subsidiary formed to own, build and operate the
processing plant at Sekisovskoye.
Baurzhan is an experienced geologist, with extensive knowledge of Kazakhstan,
the CIS and the Altai Region (where Sekisovskoye is located). He has managed
projects for the State Geophysical-Geochemical Expedition and the State
Exploration Expedition. Before joining Hambledon, he was a director of CRS, the
Company's geological consultants.
Nicholas Bridgen, Chief Executive of Hambledon Mining plc, commented:
'Whilst we are sad to see Alzhan leave - he has been an excellent partner whose
advice and counsel will be missed - I am very pleased that Baurzhan has agreed
to join the Board.
'Baurzhan currently heads the Kazakhstan operations and it is only appropriate
that he joins the main Board of the Company. Since joining us in 2004 his
experience has proven invaluable, his management of the project has been
excellent and he has become a key member of the team. He is experienced in
working with the various State bodies responsible for approving the company's
development plans, and has worked with many western and local companies.
'Finally, the Board would like to thank Alzhan for his outstanding contribution
to the development of Hambledon Mining.'

Note to Editors
Hambledon Mining plc is an AIM-listed gold mining and exploration company which
is developing the Sekisovskoye gold deposit and owns the Ognevka processing
plant, both of which are close to Ust Kamenogorsk in East Kazakhstan.
At Sekisovskoye, the company is mining from an open pit and constructing an
850,000 tonnes per year treatment plant. Production from the open pit will
average over 40,000 ounces per annum, rising to around 100,000 ounces when the
higher grade underground ore is added to the feed. The Company also holds the
rights to and is exploring the adjacent Tserkovka licence territory which
includes several areas of interest including the Tserkovka deposit itself.
The Ognevka processing plant is being refurbished and will produce concentrates
containing gold, silver, copper, iron and coke from the retreatment of zinc
smelter residues.
