BigDish UK Launches in Bournemouth

BigDish Plc (LON: DISH), a food technology company that operates a yield management platform for restaurants, is pleased to announce the Company's successful launch in Bournemouth and completion of the BigDish app beta testing period.

Highlights:

·     BigDish app beta testing period completed.

·     The migration of Bournemouth restaurants from TablePouncer to BigDish began on 14 January 2019.

·     BigDish will be available in Bristol by the end of January 2019.

·     Redesign of the BigDish app has been completed targeting the UK market.

BigDish is pleased to announce the completion of the BigDish app beta testing period, announced in September 2018. This period produced a number of positive recommendations; the team received feedback based on user experience and were able to develop improvements for the app. These have been implemented by the technology team.

The migration of Bournemouth restaurants from TablePouncer to BigDish began on 14 January 2019. As a result, over 50 of the city's most popular restaurants will offer a 50 per cent discount on food from Sunday to Thursday, at least twice per day.  BigDish expects that this number will increase.

Diners will be able to obtain the deals by making a reservation via the BigDish iOS app, Android app and the BigDish website. Restaurants can manage incoming reservations via the BigDish merchant app (available for iOS and Android) and the BigDish merchant website. The merchant platforms analyse anonymous user behavioural data, enabling restaurants to adjust the availability and level of discounts in real time accordingly.

Ensuring that momentum is maintained in the Company's expansion, it is targeting a roll out of the BigDish app to Bristol by the end of January 2019. Big Dish has also been through a beta period in Bath, with a limited number of restaurants which it will now seek to increase.

Coinciding with the launch in Bournemouth, BigDish has also finalised its UK-centric app redesign. This redesign contains a new logo and numerous visual changes based on qualitative and quantitative research amongst UK consumers over the past few months.  This redesign is set to be applied to the website over the next 4-6 weeks and will also introduce stability and speed improvements.

Joost Boer, CEO, commented:

"We could not be more thrilled about taking this major step towards larger UK expansion. Our roll out in Bournemouth and imminent launch in Bristol is testament to the team's tireless work over the last few months.

"The TablePouncer team has done a fantastic job over the last few years in developing Bournemouth's leading restaurant deal platform. Their work has provided us with a strong platform from which to make BigDish the leading restaurant deal platform in the UK.

"The time spent doing further research in the extended beta testing period has allowed BigDish to gain invaluable data driven insights into the market and user insights which will help us to grow our business and develop our plans and technology to drive us forward in 2019.

"This year looks set to bring much progress for BigDish, with continued work in our first two UK territories, the larger UK roll out and our technology plans for 2019. As such, we look forward to updating the market with further developments."

Note to editors:

Yield management is a dynamic pricing strategy that charges different prices at different times for the same products.  American Airlines started to use yield management in the 1970s which changed the way airline seats are sold. The hotel industry also has widely adopted yield management.  The restaurant industry has typically been a slow adopter of technology and as such yield management has been underutilised.  Even the busiest restaurants have empty tables and quieter evenings. BigDish's application of yield management enables restaurants to offer customers discounts at quieter times to optimise their revenue by bringing in additional customers.
