Aminex PLC 21 March 2007 21 MARCH 2007 AMINEX PLC ("Aminex" or the "Company") RETIREMENT OF DIRECTOR Aminex, the oil and gas company listed on the London and Irish Stock Exchanges, announces with regret the retirement of its non-executive director Mr. Andrew Windham with immediate effect. Mr. Windham has recently accepted an appointment as Managing Director - Africa Region for Tullow Oil PLC ("Tullow") and considers that a potential conflict of interest could arise if he were to remain on the board of the Company. Since Tullow's acquisition of Hardman Resources Ltd (" Hardman"), recently completed, Tullow has become an interested party in Aminex's 12,000 square kilometre Ruvuma licence in southern Tanzania where exploration work is in progress. Aminex farmed out an interest in this licence to Hardman in early 2006. Tullow also holds adjacent acreage to Aminex in Madagascar where Aminex is a participant in the 10,750 square kilometre Manja licence, Block 3108. Commenting on this announcement Aminex Chief Executive Brian Hall said: "We shall be very sorry to lose Andrew Windham and the strong contribution he has made during the relatively short time he has been a non-executive director of the Company. We wish him all good fortune in a challenging position as a regional head of one of the leading independent oil and gas companies operating on the African continent today. Strong links will be maintained with him through Aminex's association with Tullow in the highly promising Ruvuma basin area."
