AMINEX PLC
NEW WELL SPUDDED AT SOUTH WESLACO, TEXAS
8 DECEMBER 2008
Aminex PLC ("Aminex" or the "Company") announces the spudding of the South Weslaco-39 well ("SW-39") in Hidalgo County, Texas using the Pioneer Drilling Rig no.15.
The well will further test Frio Sand gas prospects with a target depth of 8,900 feet (approximately 2,713 metres). Drilling is anticipated to take 20 days.
This is the fifth well in Aminex's South Weslaco drilling programme, the first four of which have been completed as gas producers. The Company has a 25% working interest in SW-39 and partners are: Stalker Energy (49%), Activa Resources (25%) and Kaler Energy (operator of the well) (1%).
Further updates will be provided when significant information becomes available.
Commenting on the announcement Aminex chairman Brian Hall said: "This is the final well in our active, seven well, 2008 drilling programme consisting of two wells in Tanzania, two wells in Egypt and three wells in Texas. In Tanzania we tested a significant gas discovery earlier in the year, currently under appraisal, and in Texas the two wells already drilled this year are contributing valuable production revenues".
