COP26: Senior Level Engagement with Governments and Industry Around Electric Vehicle Adoption and New Grant Award from Scottish Enterprise

AMTE Power plc ("AMTE " or the "Company"), a developer and manufacturer of lithium-ion and sodium-ion battery cells for specialist markets, has been actively engaged in discussions at a senior level with government bodies and global corporations throughout COP26.

With one quarter of the worlds global emissions coming from transport, it is not surprising that transport is a major theme across COP26. The AMTE senior team have been participating on multiple panels and roundtables with a particular focus on Electric Vehicle adoption and Energy Storage, including:

· 'Scottish Drive for Innovation' focus on Scotland's move towards a green economy (1 November )

· 'Scaling EVs: An open conversation about the key challenges' a roundtable event, sponsored by Octopus Energy and attracting industry leaders from the automotive industry (8 November)

· 'The Storage and Transportation of Energy' an MSIP Demonstrator and Showcase event (11 November)

AMTE is also pleased to announce that Scottish Enterprise, a non-departmental public body of the Scottish Government which encourages economic development, enterprise, innovation and investment in business, has awarded a small grant to AMTE as part of its ScotHeavy Project, aimed at achieving Zero Emissions from Heavy Duty Vehicles ("HDV") such as buses, lorries and construction vehicles.

As a Scottish based manufacturer of battery cells, AMTE naturally has close links across the Scottish Government and has been working closely with Scottish Enterprise for some time. The ScotHeavy project will involve AMTE designing a specific battery module for the Ultra Energy cell.

Kevin Brundish, Chief Executive Officer of AMTE Power, said:

"The Electric Vehicle market has not surprisingly been a significant focus throughout COP26. The Scottish Government have been at the forefront of this debate and we are delighted to be participating in the Zero Emission Heavy Duty Vehicles Project. At their invitation we have been involved in a number of their events in Glasgow and we look forward to progressing the discussions we have had."
