Anchor welcomes Elizabeth Froude and Fred Angole as Non-Executive Directors

1 September 2023

Two new Non-executive Directors have been appointed to Anchor's Board with effect from 1 September 2023.

Elizabeth Froude has been in the Housing Sector for almost 20 years and worked for large and complex organisations in several parts of England. She is currently Group Chief Executive at Platform, which operates coast to coast through the Midlands.

Prior to joining the housing sector she worked for several large FTSE organisations in the UK, USA and across Europe in roles particularly focussed on change and performance improvement, often in M&A environments.

She is a strong supporter of the sustainability agenda for the sector and is the Chair of the National Housing Federation's Sustainability Strategy Group and also on the Board of the Future Homes Hub, which conducts research to support policy development on future housing standards in the new build environment.

Elizabeth said of her appointment: "I am delighted to be joining Anchor's Board and helping to maintain a constant focus on providing quality and value for money services that meet residents' changing needs."

Fred Angole is Finance Director and Deputy Chief Executive of YMCA St Paul's Group, a supported housing provider that specialises in providing accommodation and wellbeing services to vulnerable young Londoners. He is also a non-executive board member and Chair of the Audit & Risk Committee at Notting Hill Genesis Housing Association and holds a similar position at Newlon Housing Trust.

Fred is a qualified accountant with over 30 years' experience in the social housing sector, as a regulator, finance executive and non-executive director.  He is a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has an MSc in Finance & Investment.  He was previously Director of Corporate Services at Homes for Haringey and a trustee of Black Cultural Archives.

Fred said of his appointment: "I very much look forward to helping further strengthen Anchor's reputation as an inclusive organisation that is committed to supporting residents' wellbeing."

Anchor Chairman Christopher Kemball said: "Both Elizabeth and Fred bring a great deal of experience to the Board. I look forward to working with them and the other members of the Board and Anchor's executive team to ensure Anchor continues to innovate to meet the needs of the older people of today and tomorrow."
