3 May 2006 LSE: AYM Anglesey Mining plc Drilling Recommences at Garth Daniel Anglesey Mining plc is pleased to report that diamond drilling has recommenced on the Garth Daniel area at the Parys Mountain copper-zinc-lead project in Anglesey, North Wales. The new programme is based on the interpretation of earlier drilling, including that carried out during the 2005 programme which was reported on in March this year. Garth Daniel has been identified as an area of significant new potential and the company's geologists believe that it could extend over a strike length of at least 1.5 kilometres. New resources identified at Garth Daniel will be additional to the 6.5 million tonnes previously reported by the company - see release dated 22 March 2006 for further details of the Garth Daniel area and drilling there to date. The first hole in the new programme will test the western extension of the Garth Daniel area. This hole is offset both along strike and dip from hole AMC 17 that was completed earlier this year. This new hole will be approximately 600 metres deep and will test the entire volcanic sequence down through to the underlying shales. Like earlier holes in the area, this hole is targeting the three main ore bearing horizons identified at Garth Daniel. In depth order these are the Carreg-y-doll, the North Central Zone and the Engine Zone. Important intersections in the Garth Daniel area reported previously include 5.5 metres at 22% combined copper-zinc-lead, and 2.5 metres in excess of 40% copper- zinc-lead both in the Engine Zone. Additionally very wide intersections of lower grade material have been reported in the shallower Carreg-y-doll zone. The North Central Zone continues to be of great interest with very encouraging intersections also previously reported. It is expected that the current hole will take up to six weeks to reach its target depth. The company will log the core on a continuous basis and will send mineralised intersections for assay as they are identified. Additional holes are planned for the Garth Daniel area as part of the current programme and these will be guided by the results from the current drilling.
