Anglo American plc ("Anglo American") notes Anglo American Platinum Limited's announcement of its results for the year ended 31 December 2021, released this morning to the Johannesburg Stock Exchange and available via the following website link: www.angloamericanplatinum.com/investors/financial-results-centre .
Anglo American Platinum Limited reported adjusted EBITDA of R108 billion (audited), equivalent to approximately $7.5 billion.
Below is a reconciliation of Anglo American Platinum Limited's adjusted EBITDA to the PGMs business unit's contribution to Anglo American's underlying EBITDA:

(1) Adjusted EBITDA as disclosed in Anglo American Platinum Limited's annual report, defined as earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation adjusted to exclude scrapping of assets and the related insurance claim income, profit on sale of assets and remeasurements of loans and receivables .
(2) Anglo American Platinum Limited presents foreign exchange gains and losses on cash balances within EBITDA whereas these amounts are presented within finance costs, and therefore excluded from EBITDA, under the accounting policy adopted for the Anglo American Plc financial statements.
Anglo American will report results for the year ended 31 December 2021 on 24 February 2022.
