Directorate change
Anglo American announces that Simon Thompson, an Executive Director, will retire
from the board on 13th April 2007. Mr Thompson, a director since 2005, has
decided to pursue other opportunities.
Sir Mark Moody-Stuart, Chairman of Anglo American, said: "I would like to thank
Simon on behalf of the board for his significant contribution to the Group since
joining in 1995. Simon has headed up the Base Metals business since 2001 and has
been instrumental in its successful turnaround. Simon has also brought valuable
expertise to his roles as Chairman of the Industrial Minerals Division and the
Exploration Division. We wish Simon every success in the future."
