                          Anglo American Investor Day

Anglo American will be holding an Investor Day on 13 June 2005 at 2.30pm (UK
time). The Investor Day will be hosted by Tony Trahar, CEO of Anglo American,
and will include presentations on Group strategy, Anglo Platinum, Base Metals
and Anglo Americans' Technical Division.

The presentations will be webcast live and can be accessed from the Anglo
American website (www.angloamerican.co.uk). A replay of the webcast will be
