                     Notice of Interim Results and Webcast

Anglo American will be announcing interim results for the 6 months ended 30
June 2005, on Thursday 4 August 2005. A presentation of results by Tony Trahar,
CEO of Anglo American and Tony Lea, Finance Director, will be held in London at
10.00am.

The presentation will be webcast and can be accessed from the Anglo American
website at www.angloamerican.co.uk. A replay of the webcast will be available
later that day.
