                     APPOINTMENT OF NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR



Anglo Asian Mining PLC (AIM: AAZ) the gold and copper development company with
projects in Azerbaijan, announces that Mr Khosrow Zamani has joined the Board of
Directors as a non-executive Director with immediate effect.


Mr. Zamani was director of the Southern Europe and Central Asia Department of
the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the private sector lending arm of
the World Bank, from March 2000 to July 2005. This department was responsible
for the IFC investment programme in 15 countries across the region. As of July
1st, 2005, Mr. Zamani was appointed as Senior Advisor to the Vice President of
Operations.

Whilst a director at IFC, Mr. Zamani was instrumental in building the IFC
investment programme in the region with several new initiatives, particularly in
Central Asia and Caucasia. He oversaw the IFC portfolio of more than
US$2billion, diversified across the financial, oil and gas, mining and
manufacturing sectors.


Graham Mascall, Chairman of Anglo Asian, commented on the appointment, 'We are
pleased to welcome Khosrow to the Board. His experience and contacts in the
region of Caucasia will be a great asset to the Company and his funding
expertise will be of particular relevance as the Company's projects develop.'


Save as disclosed below, there is nothing further to disclose in relation to the
appointment of Mr Khosrow Zamani, aged 64, under schedule two, paragraph (g) of
the AIM Rules:

There were no other directorships held in the previous five years.


As part of Mr Zamani's arrangements with Anglo Asian, he has been awarded
options over 100,000 Ordinary Shares of 1p each at an option price of 16.5p per
share. The options vest in three equal instalments on the first, second and
third anniversaries of today's date.
