CONFIRMATION OF GRANT OF SHARE OPTIONS

Further to the company's announcement released to the market on 3 October 2000
under reference RNS 8624R, the board of Anglo-Eastern Plantations Plc advises
that it has received valid Forms of Acceptance from employees and directors in
respect of 194,300 shares offered on 2 October 2000 at 38p, exercisable between
16 October 2003 and 15 October 2010.

Accordingly, the board has today granted the said Options and confirms that,
within the above grant, the following Options have been granted to a director of
the company:
