Animalcare (AIM: ANCR), a leading supplier of veterinary medicines, announces the appointment of George Gunn as a Non-Executive Director of the Group with immediate effect.

 

Mr Gunn stepped down recently as Head of the Animal Health Division and from the Executive Committee of Novartis AG on completion of the sale of that division on 1st January 2015. He has extensive experience in Animal Health Pharmaceuticals over a career that has spanned 30 years within the industry including the Wellcome Foundation, Janssen Pharmaceutical, Pharmacia Corporation and Novartis, where he has worked since 2003. In his early career Mr Gunn worked as a Veterinary Practitioner in Scotland before joining the Ministry of Agriculture as a Veterinary officer advising on notifiable disease issues.

 

Mr Gunn is a qualified veterinary surgeon, a Member of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and has an Honorary Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery from the University of Edinburgh. Mr Gunn is a past-Chairman of the National Office of Animal Health (NOAH) and past-President of the International Federation of Animal Health (IFAH).
