Microgen plc
AGM Trading Update
Martyn Ratcliffe, Executive Chairman of Microgen plc will
provide the following trading update at the Annual
General Meeting to be held at 9 am today, 4 May 2000.
'I am pleased to advise that the final stage of the two
year transition programme of the Microgen Group is making
satisfactory progress and the Board anticipates
completing the programme on schedule in Q3. Overall, the
Group is trading in line with the Board's expectations
and hence the disciplined investment program is
continuing, with the central processing facility
anticipated to be fully operational by the end of the
year.
'The number of corporate customers signed up for
Microgen's application service provision ('ASP') business
now exceeds 60 with 90 applications, including 27
customers adopting Microgen's business-to-business
('B2B') e-billing service. This continued success
positions Microgen at the forefront of B2B e-business and
ASP services in the UK and the announcement made today
with Sage Group plc further enhances our e-billing
capability, extending the range of organisations who can
benefit from Microgen's services. Microgen-Kaisha, the
Group's CRM and data warehousing consultancy, has also
started the year well and the Board anticipates the
current year will show further progress in the
development of the Group.'
